After owning construction companies for more than 20 years and successfully delivering projects in the resource, energy and infrastructure sectors throughout Australia and internationally, Stuart and Laurraine made the decision set up a company which focused on building Communities which have a strong sense of purpose.
In 2005 Murray Group was established with the objective of building Communities which improve its customers’ lives through the delivery of innovative, affordable and customer focused developments.

Owned by Directors, Stuart and Laurraine Murray, Murray Group operates under family orientated principles, providing its customers a personalised service with big business experience and resources.
Having owned construction companies for more than 30 years, the pair have successfully delivered projects in the resource, energy infrastructure sectors throughout Australia and countries such as New Guinea, Singapore, Burma, Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
Throughout this time Murray Group has developed a number of residential, multi-residential and industrial properties, learning and growing along the way.
Laurraine and Stuart’s extensive business experience has shown that being dependable, open and honest and putting the customer’s needs first will ensure the success of any development.
Stuart has more than 35 years of successful project delivery experience throughout South East Asia, having successfully owned construction companies which operated in the resource, energy and infrastructure sectors throughout Australia and countries such as New Guinea, Singapore, Burma, Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
Over the course of three and a half decades, Stuart has developed a deep understanding of what’s possible by servicing the aluminium, iron ore, coal, gold, oil and gas, water, pipelines, power generation and aviation sectors and across multiple geographies and leadership roles.
One of these businesses was sold to an ASX 100 company in 2005 allowing Stuart to gain extensive senior executive experience both in private industry and corporate sectors, growing and managing businesses with annual revenues in excess of $250M.
Stuart earned his Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Central Queensland and is a certified Electrician.
Laurraine and Stuart established Murray Group in 2005 with the objective of building Communities which have a strong sense of purpose and improve our customers’ lives, through the delivery of innovative, affordable and customer focused developments.
Having grown up in regional Queensland, Stuart has a deep appreciations of what community means for Murray Group’s metropolitan and regional customers. He now lives in Brisbane with his wife and two university-aged children.
Laurraine initially completed leadership roles in the coal sector for BHP across multiple geographies throughout Australia.
Having obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) – Geology at the Queensland University of Technology, Laurraine has successfully owned construction companies for more than 25 years, with operations in the resource, energy and infrastructure sectors throughout Australia and countries such as New Guinea, Singapore, Burma, Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
One of these businesses was sold to an ASX 100 company in 2005 and at this time Laurraine and Stuart established Murray Group with the objective of building Communities which have a strong sense of purpose and improve our customers’ lives through the delivery of innovative, affordable and customer focused developments. Laurraine has extensive leadership experience in the private industry and corporate sectors managing technical and business support teams.
Laurraine grew up in regional Queensland and has a deep appreciation of what community means for Murray Group’s metropolitan and regional customers.
She now lives in Brisbane with Stuart and their two university-aged children.

Flinders Village is a co-located seniors living development located in the coastal community of Tannum Sands in Central Queensland. Renowned for its long, white sandy beaches, Tannum Sands is a natural ‘sea change’ location.
Located approximately 400m from the Tannum Sands beach, central retail hub and under 25 kilometres from Gladstone central business district, the co-located seniors living development comprises retirement living of 100 x two and three bedroom Independent and Assisted Living Units (ILU+ALU) and an 104 x 1 bed care suite Residential Aged Care (RAC) facility on a 5.3 hectare site.

The Western Star Trucks Industrial Facility comprised a 6,000m2 warehouse with 12m internal heights, 4,000m2 concrete car park and 12,000m2 all-weather gravel hardstand.
A purpose-built facility was designed to meet the needs of industrial tenants and came after a Material Change of Use approval was granted by the Brisbane City Council for a 15,000m2 industrial facility which included a 14,000m2 highbay warehouse/workshop with 12m internal heights and an additional 1,000m2 of commercial-grade office space.
